Privacy Policy

Clocktail is a free happy-hour directory. This policy explains the information we handle when you use clocktail.app.

Information you provide

If you create an account, we receive your email address and an account identifier. Your password is processed by our authentication provider and is not visible to Clocktail. If you submit a happy hour, we receive the venue and deal information you enter, plus your contact email if you choose to provide it. Cheers and saved venues are connected to your account.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and service providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and requested pages for security and reliability. Authentication uses browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in. When you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks permission and uses the result to select a nearby market; the current website does not intentionally store your precise location in the Clocktail database.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, save preferences, count cheers, review submissions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, communicate about a submission when necessary, and improve Clocktail. We do not sell personal information. Sponsored placements are based on market and venue context, not sensitive personal profiles.

Service providers

Clocktail uses Supabase for authentication and database services, Namecheap-hosted infrastructure for the website and email, and a content delivery network to load the Supabase browser library. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help operate Clocktail, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer. Public happy-hour submissions may be edited and published without the submitter’s contact email. We do not publish account email addresses.

Retention and choices

We keep information as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You may stop location access in your browser, sign out, or ask us to access or delete your account information by emailing hello@clocktail.app. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.

Security and age

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. Clocktail is intended for adults of legal drinking age. Do not submit personal information if you are under 18, and never use Clocktail to obtain alcohol unlawfully.
